Assessment of Laboratory Skills for Second Year Pharmacy Students Using OSPE

The final evaluation of the laboratory skills for second year students at the Faculty of Pharmacy for the academic year 2020-2021 was conducted on Saturday morning, May 5, 2021. Students moved from one station to another in order to evaluate their performance in specific skills using the Objective Structured Practical Exams (OSPE) method. The students' laboratory skills were tested using devices within the Quality Control and Quality Assurance lab and using simulation programs specialized in education and evaluation available at the Faculty’s simulation lab. It is worth mentioning that the Faculty of Pharmacy carries out all kinds of lessons and activities by following quality control rules and taking full care of the security, safety and health of its students and all employees. The Faculty awards a bachelor’s degree in the PharmD program, and is the only Faculty Pharmacy that awards this degree. This degree is a professional degree in pharmacy that contributes to providing highly qualified pharmacists in the scientific and practical field who are qualified to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients in order to improve health services and contribute to restructuring the health system in Libya. The PharmD program pays great attention to the role of the pharmacist in the clinical field. Therefore, the program provides the opportunity for learners in it to develop their clinical skills and obtain sufficient experience to provide appropriate treatment to the patient, through clinical training that the student accomplishes during the professional phase of the study.
