dc.description.abstractAbstract: Consumption of energy drinks was significantly associated with sleep problem, which are progressively used regardless of negative health effects particularly among adolescents and young adults. The main aim of this study is to examine the relationship between energy drinks and sleep pattern on LIMU college students by more than one parameter. Target number of students was 1,000 participants and the study reached 434 participants were invited via self-administered questionnaire at Libyan International Medical University students in all levels which consisted of 20 questions and the main measurements included are dependency, negative effect of energy drink, and effect of energy drink on sleep. The research results showed that, the consumption prevalence of energy drinks amongst participants was 59.4%. The majority of participants enrolled in this study was male which (52.5%) male and (47.5%) female. In conclusion energy drinks consumption are risk factor of poor sleep quality between Libyan International Medical University students. Furthermore, awareness must be increase about energy drinks consumption by other research related on sleep quality and general health.
