Students, PharmD (2020-12-03)

In implementation of the decisions of the Academic Council at the Libyan International Medical University, the Faculty of Pharmacy is applying a hybrid learning system for the academic year 2021/2020. The hybrid learning system merges between the face-to-face and distance learning systems where students are divided into small groups ranging from 6, 12, 18, 22 and a maximum of 45 students according to the type of session. During the face to face sessions, all precautions and arrangements are taken into consideration. Moreover, the percentage of distance learning activities ranges between 40% to 70% in the first academic years at the Faculty and reaches 80-90% in the fifth year. All components of distance learning are implemented at the Faculty of Pharmacy using Moodle which is the approved learning management system. It is worth noting that the Faculty of Pharmacy is the first and only Faculty in Libya whose students’ study within the PharmD program, which is an accredited program that grants a Bachelor's degree to pharmacists who are able to provide pharmaceutical care to the patient. The Faculty of Pharmacy at the Libyan International Medical University adopts modern curricula and teaching methods and student-centered learning strategies within an interactive education system where teaching takes place at the Faculty from the first year until graduation over a period of five years. Teaching takes place using problem-based learning, team-based learning and research-based learning strategies.
